Inventing, innovating and tinkering have always been the core drivers in acquiring and developing the skills that I have. I've always loved to take apart things to know how they work since I was a child.  Reverse engineering and playing around with technology is what that got me interested in making new things.

Mechanical designing being my forte and yet having the knowledge and experience in the other aspects of engineering a product has always helped me model my ideas very efficiently. I've always committed myself to understand and learn every aspect of the problem I am trying to solve so that the solution from my side is as good as it can be. The skill set that I possess have been divided into four parts here, with each category being unique yet assisting each other everywhere.

Mechanical Designing


All of my projects and the products I design are hardware based and have a strong influence of Mechanical Designing.  Getting the mechanical skeleton right makes sure that the electronics work perfectly and the expected functioning of the product is never compromised. This part of my skill set has been further divided into 3 categories:


The software that I am well acquainted with, which are used for various fields of mechanical designing.


Primary choice for Computer-Aided Designing due to its rich tools and plugins.

Ansys Fluent (Computational Fluid Dynamics)

  • Complex fluid flow volume modelling.
  • Advanced meshing techniques for efficient meshing in complex models (Static & Dynamic)
  • Solution setup for efficient Steady State and Transient studies.
  • Creating functions in C++ to define variable parameters and zones in solution setups.


For quick designs involving surface modelling.


For rendering and animating 3D models used in visual presentations.

Catia / AutoCAD

Although not my primary choice for CAD,  used them at times and well acquainted with them.


For designing and simulation of complex pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.


Rapid Prototyping

The strongest sector of my skill set is rapid prototyping and I greatly enjoy doing it. Nothing thrills me more than bringing new ideas to life for a proof of concept.

Power tools

The knack of using hand-held power tools has always been advantageous while tinkering and building something that's in my mind.

Drilling machine, angled grinder, reciprocating saw, Dremel rotary tools, heat gun etc. are some of the power tools that I have used extensively in building my projects.

Lathe operations

For quick material removal jobs.

Turning, cutting, facing, knurling, threading etc. have become very familiar to me over the years.

Workshop Machinery

Shaping Machine, Milling Machine, Band Saw Machine, Surface Grinding Machine are some of the other machines that I can operate for different tasks like gear cutting, surface finishing etc..

CNC coding

For complex and precise subtractive manufacturing jobs. Familiar with the common G-codes and M-codes.

3-D printing

For making complex or precise structures,  sufficient experience with FDM 3-D printers.

Laser Cutting

Experienced in using laser engravers for cutting plastics, etching materials etc.

Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems

Sufficient experience in building and realizing pneumatic/hydraulic circuits and well versed with their capabilities and limitations.


Experienced in arc and gas welding.

Frugal methods of working with and modifying materials

Having worked extensively with materials like aluminum, mild steel,  PVC, poly-carbonate etc., I've learnt a lot of frugal tricks to modify them and play around with their physical, thermodynamic and chemical properties. These tricks have always proven to be core essentials when it comes to rapid prototyping.


Industrial Designing

As much as I enjoy rapid prototyping for projects, I enjoy industrial designing too.

Having designed products before, I have acquired  knowledge and experience in designing a product based on a designer's point of view- human centered designs, aesthetics and cost effective manufacturing. This knowledge combined with my good understanding in the engineering factors has helped me design products more efficiently.


Electrical and Electronic Circuit Designing



Understanding and Designing Electronic Circuits

For most of my projects, I have designed and built the electronic circuits required in it. Having practically realized them, I have learnt a great deal of things that can affect a circuit's working which are usually not considered theoretically. The factors that affect the interaction between  the different electronic components (active and passive) in practical situations are well known to me.

Power electronics

Practical implementation of buck and boost converters, rectifiers, inverters, choppers etc. ,

Interfacing DC motors

Having used different kinds of motors in my projects, interfacing them with the system as well as managing its power requirements is well known to me. (Brushed DC motor/ Brush-less DC motor/ Stepper motor/ Servo motor)

Battery Management

Sufficient experience in safe and efficient usage, charging, capabilities and limitations of a few types of batteries like Li-ion, Li-Po, Lead Acid etc.

Interfacing Sensors

Sensors have been of great importance in many of my projects and I am pretty familiar with interfacing them with various circuits and controllers.

PCB designing and fabrication

  • EAGLE for PCB designing.
  • Copper board etching for rapid prototyping of PCBs.
  • Line soldering method on vero-boards for quick fabrication of simple circuits.

Micro-controllers Interfacing

Arduino and Raspberry Pi are the two micro-controllers that most of my projects have been based on hence I am familiar with all their electronic interfacing requirements and capabilities.

Programming and Algorithm designing


Developing algorithms has always been my strength. Understanding and modifying them for better efficiency is a thing that I enjoy a lot. I believe that the most important aspect of programming is being creative yet logical while designing algorithms.

  • Setting up a scene for a product shoot with the ideal light settings, sound, angle of view, depth of field etc. with the help of various equipment (even frugal) used in photography & videography.
